Learning Support Services Coordinator- Primary and Early Years

Description

The Learning Support Coordinator ensures that students with diverse learning needs receive appropriate support to thrive academically and socially. They work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and specialists to create inclusive learning environments and track student progress.

 Responsibilities

  • Identifying and Supporting Students with Learning Needs
    • Conduct assessments and collaborate with teachers to identify students who require additional academic or behavioral support.
    • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or learning profiles tailored to students’ needs.
  • Collaborating with Teachers and Parents
    • Work closely with classroom teachers to adapt instructional strategies, provide resources, and co-plan lessons that support inclusive practices.
    • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to update them on student progress and involve them in support strategies.
  • Coordinating Support Services and Monitoring Progress
    • Liaise with external specialists (e.g. educational psychologists, speech therapists) when needed.
    • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, ensuring students are making measurable progress, and adjust support accordingly.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Special Education
  • Inclusive or international school experience preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP processes, RTI/MTSS frameworks, and data-informed instruction
  • Experience with phonics instruction (e.g. Jolly Phonics, Floppy's Phonics), speech and language strategies, or developmental play-based approaches is an advantage.
  • ICT literacy for record-keeping, planning, and tracking student progress.
  • Leadership experience preferred
